Concord & 9th & a Shaker

Hello again everyone...

Today I want to share one of my recent buys by Concord & 9th. Who are a relatively new company, I was going to make an order from their site but then saw that Make the Day Special Stamp Store was soon to be getting some (yay), I waited and put in an order for the Eat Cake & Celebrate stamp set and the coordinating die set as soon as I could. I adore the set and plan to get some more.

I have been wanting to make a shaker card for a while and thought this would be a good time to try the new set at the same time.

A Christmas Card

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had a great weekend, the weather has been pretty grey and wet where I am, so I tried to inject some shine in to it while in the craft room.

Today I want to share with you my entry to a few challenges and it all started with the Make the Day Special November Challenge.

Congrats You Escaped (New Job Card)

Hello everyone,

Quick post this week on a new job card I have made for a friend who is starting a new job, inspired by the post by Karen Baker Happy (Escape) New Job) I really liked the caption.

I used the word 'congrats' on the outside and 'you escaped' on the inside for a bit of interest.

I used three layers of the Lawn Fawn Scripty Congrats die out of a silver glitter paper, black cardstock and a plum cardstock from the Papermania Capsule solid cardstock.

Custom Stamp & Die Pockets

Wow its been two weeks since my last post, it doesn't feel that long... Time really does fly.

So I've been mainly working at my regular non-crafty day job, some jewellery, I had a few deliveries over the past few weeks for my craft stash, I'm still waiting on some as well :) and I have been organising my craft room a bit so I can fit in some larger pieces of equipment, one is a laser printer which I may team up with a foil applicator (still debating this). I have also made a few cards for some friends - one sadly (for me, but yay for her) is a new job card which I will post about soon.

So today I bring the We R Memory Keepers Photo Sleeve Fuse Tool and custom stamp and die pockets.

DIY Smash Book

Hi again every one...

Today I am sharing my entry to Make The Day Special Stamp Store Blog October Challenge - Anything But a Card mines a 'gift'.

I brought a couple of A5 notebooks a few weeks ago just to jot down ideas and notes etc. they have lined pages, a kraft cover with a pink elastic closure band - nothing too fancy. On one book I used washi tape to jazz up the cover, but left this one plain - until now, which I will probably gift out to a friend.

I have taken inspiration from SMASH books and elements of journaling.

I've used a number of items sold by MtDS; mostly Mama Elephant, but also some Lawn Fawn, some Paper Smooches and WPLUS9 (full list is at the end of the page).

Making Some New Stamps...

I have had the Silhouette Cameo stamp material for some time, I've played around with it a few times with varying results, which is why I've never really used it.

I watched a few videos and none of the tips really helped me get a good stamp impression with coloured inks, like some have had success with. The material tends to leave a distressed/faded look.

But it did work well with the VersaMark watermark ink pad, probably because its so sticky.

So Happy Card (and Small Craft Haul)

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by.

Today I am going to share with you a card I have made using the Hero Arts and Basic Grey Waves background stamp and the Mama Elephant Happy Script die.

Tim Holtz Distress Peacock Feathers is one of my favourite colours, so when I first looked at the background stamp I knew it was the colour I wanted to use on this card. Now I wasn't sure which way to actually use the stamp, arches at the top or bottom, so I have probably used it the wrong way but I
think it can be used either way :)

So Many Crafts So Little Time

I read a quote by David Allen 'You can do anything but not everything', which I can very much apply to myself, I have wanted to try a lot of design processes and crafty things but in the end I don't think I would be that good at any of them.

In the past I have purchased some tool or piece of equipment used it a few times then lost interest
because it is not exactly what I wanted. So I have started thinking and asking myself certain questions.

New Crafting Haul

I have had a few new deliveries this week which included a MISTI (Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented) which as far as I am aware only ships from America.

I have been lucky enough to win this one on a auction site in the UK over the weekend and it was delivered today.
Along with a paper grid pad, two magnets and the cleaner recommended for it.

I have some stamps which require layering so I am hoping this will be the perfect tool for easy alignment.

I also won two stamps sets from by Mama Elephant - Sketchy Letters (reason why some letters have colour on them) and Love Quotes (with its matching dies).

Can't wait to try them all out.
